Top tips for making the most of your Art Trail experience

Less than a week to go until our artists open their homes and studios for the first weekend of the Kāpiti Coast Art Trail – Te Ara Toi o te Takutai o Kāpiti.

There are many ways to Art Trail. Are you an Info Investigator who reads every artist profile before setting out? Or a Lightning Rounder aiming to visit as many studios as possible? Maybe you’re a Medium Master who makes a beeline for your favourite art forms – or a Lucky Dipper, letting the Art Trail flags and signs guide your way.

However you like to explore, here are a few top tips to get you ready for two weekends of local creativity, colour, and connection as we celebrate the 25th Kāpiti Coast Art Trail.

• Artists' doors are open from 10am–4pm on Saturday and Sunday and they can't wait to welcome you into their creative spaces. 
  
  
• Plan your Trail: Explore artist profiles and plan your route, download the guide or grab a printed guide from any artist on the Trail. 
  
  
• Spot the flags: Look for the Art Trail flags outside artists’ homes and studios – no flag means the artist is unavailable. Follow directional Art Trail signs to find artists who are a little off the beaten track.
  
  
• Buy unique creations you love: You can check each artist’s payment methods on our website before you buy.
  
  
• Take a break: Fuel up at one of Kāpiti’s great eateries along the way – find the perfect pit stop!

Many studios are in artists' homes and gardens, so please respect their space. Ask before taking photos or videos and keep an eye on children.
