Our Art Trail is brimming with exceptional talent, including some highly acclaimed artists who are making waves in the art world.
Hamish Macaulay (pictured above) recently received the Curator's Award at the NZ Academy of Fine Arts Autumn Open Exhibition. Find out more on their website.
Hamish also won the Winsor & Newton NZ Sponsorship Art Award at the Wellington Art Show in April, which celebrates artists dedicated to fine art craftmanship and creativity.
Sculptor and fibre artist Birgit Moffatt (pictured below left), and sculptor and encaustic artist at Studio Reset (pictured below right) were finalists in the RT Nelson Award at the New Zealand Art Show in Wellington over King’s Birthday Weekend (31 May–2 June).
Birgit has also been awarded the Object Maker Aotearoa Fellowship, joining nine other artists from across the motu. Described as a valuable learning opportunity, Birgit sees it as two years of growth, collaboration, networking – and perhaps a few tears.
Visit these artists on the Art Trail to experience the creativity and craftsmanship. Their works promise to inspire and leave a lasting impression!
